"You are awesome"- Maja Design / Dusty Attic Design Team creation

Hello and welcome . Tina Ollett back with you today to share a layout I have titled...............

"You are Awesome"......

2017-07-18 You are awesome 019 (1024x1016)

Doing pretty layouts with copious amounts of flowers and embellishments is my go to thing for most projects, but today because this is mainly a masculine paper collection, I have opted to use a photo of my son who is quite happy not to be the centre of attention ever, especially in my scrapbooking, but today it is! I captured this photo of him a number of years ago whilst we were on holidays at the Great Barrier Reef. We were on our way out to the reef on a very windy day and he was so very excited to be going snorkeling. The photo says it all.

2017-07-18 You are awesome 012 (1024x768)

I decided to keep this layout very simple with layering of all this fabulous collection. Of course I love to use woodgrain patterns to custom make the design for my yummy Dusty Attic chipboards and photo to sit. I used 2 sheets of Wood to create this using the first for the background page.

Once the wood panelling was completed I intertwined each Notepad Edge through around and under the panelling.

I have also added in the bs of Leather ( I also love polkadots) as a square frame to sit all of the cut wood to sit upon. And over this I have cut sections of Stonewashed to lay over this. My photo is also matted with Stonewashed.
I have also used sheets of papers from the Vintage Autumn Basics collection, cutting some of the hot air balloons for embellishments to add to my project.
And now to get to the really good stuff......embellishing the page with Dusty!!! No layout is ever complete in my mind without the addition of chipboards. For my project I decided to use the Notepad Edge Frame. I used two of the circular frames to help highlight my photo. I have also used two of the straight Notepad Edge pieces. These were simply inked with Distress Ink and then I randomly wiped a little of Dusty in Colour Faded Denim to help it pop and co-ordinate with my beautiful papers.

I chose to use the Word Pack #33 for the title "Awesome". This is a fabulous font chipboard. I feel it give the layout movement. It was dressed in gesso and a little Dusty Attic Varnish.

I have also used lots of yummy Dusty Attic chipboards to emphasise my photo. These were inked and painted and layered amongst the layers of papers to allow more dimension to my layout.
Well that is all from me today. I hope you enjoyed your visit. Remember to return tomorrow for another Design Team creation. Until then take care and happy crafting. xxx

"Beauties" 49andMarket - Cottage Life

Hello and welcome back today for my instalment of 49andMarket's newest release collection to hit the shelves. I can't explain the sheer delight these new papers brought me upon their arrival. The amount of ooooohs and ahhhhs that could be heard from myself  and my daughters as I took each sheet from the box would have had drawn attention had anyone been standing close by. I think this is by far one of the most beautiful collections I have ever laid my hands on.

So to sit down to craft with it was even more of a thrill.

I found a card from the Cut Outs sheet which I decided to used as my title for the page. I then went in search for a photo to accompany it. This photo is one that I have used once before. It is one of my most special photos of my two girls. I adore this photo and thought it would work perfectly with this collection. I did originally have it in black and white but changed it to a sepia tone partway through creating this layout. I felt the brown shades suited it much better.

I used two sheet of Provence to start my layout . The first of course for my background and the second was cut firstly for the floral elements which I fussy cut. I then cut a couple of photo mats and then a couple of more and tore some also to do a little layering of the photo. I used the dotted lines from the framework to help frame my photo on three sides. I also wrapped a little of 49andMarket's jute cord around the frame and tied it in a bow at the side.

I cut a few more elements from the Cut Outs Sheet to help embellish my layout. These were added atop of these beautiful beautiful .....did I say beautiful soon to be released flowers. They are just to die for........and that is the honest truth. A must have all three collections for the die hard flower hoarders like me. I know a few lovely friends that would give their left arm to have these in their collections.

I embellished my page further by frame the matting layers using a favourite chipboard Dusty Attic frame. I cut it into 3 and added some Liquid Pearls and gesso to these to help them hightlight the photo.

And from another view of these gorgeous flowers. They are amazing. I did a little dry brushing with gesso to keep with the whitewash or shabby look of my layout. And also to help keep my layout as soft as this beautiful photo.

Here you can see more of the layering of torn papers of Garland. I love stripes. And this green is a stunning colour to co-ordinate with the blue of this page.

Here you can see the Wagon Wheel elements which I think are just adorable. And you can also see the sprigs from the flowers that you will find when you purchase the soon to be release flower range. They also have some gorgeous leaves and branches but I decided to leave these out for this layout. Can't wait for you all to see them.

"Remember the love" by Tina Ollett 49andMarket / Dusty Attic DT creation

Hello and welcome. Tina with you here today to share a layout created recently. This was created for a friend who had just lost her Dad suddenly. I felt very priveleged to have been asked to do this for her, but terrified at the same time. The pressure was on and of course I procrastinated about doing it right up until the day before it was due to be completed. I got there in the end and I hope that it is all that she was wanting. So this is what I did.

I reverted back to 49andMarket's very first release papers of Vintage Artistry. These have been my go to papers for so many creations. They really lend themselves to most styles. I was looking for a soft muted page and I found it on the back of the Vintage Artistry's Fauna and Flora Cut Out sheet. I was surprised to have one of these still in tact! Through this patterned paper there are hints of a dulled apricot colour so that is where I started.

I also added in a slither of torn paper from the reverse  of the Ephemera cut out sheet as there are lots of muted tones of grey throughout my background page. I tucked this piece under my main photo frame which you can just see in the layout.

And I also used the large clock cut from the Heirloom Cut Outs sheet below.

And of course no project is complete without some gorgeous 49andMarket flowers. These are my favourite's from this collection......they are stunning and a perfect fit for my layout.

I firstly did a little sentciling on the background with some Art Extravagance Crackle Paste. I also coloured around where my photo would sit with some acrylic paint toned down with a little gesso to suit my layout.

I also cut a number of butterflies from my first piece of Ephemera Cut Outs.

I have used a lot of beautiful Dusty Attic chipboards to compliment my page. They were dressed in inks and Liquid Pearls in co-ordinating colours. Some were also covered with some sparkles to highlight the chipboards required.

This filmstrip chipboard piece was bent to fit over some embellishments and give dimension to my page.

I also did some splatterings  using Inka Golds.

I have also added in some distressed pieces of muslin along with lace to help soften my layout.

And from a different angle........

"Together" - 49andMarket / Dusty Attic Design Team Creation

Hello and welcome back!
Tina O here with you today to share my next creation using the gorgeous Heirloom Botanicals.
When I first opened my goodies box from the lovely Janene, my eyes were taken with the Oasis A and B side. I love the purple blue hue of this paper and the rusticness about the patterns. These were must haves for my next creation. I have titled this "Together".

2016-10-13-together-030

I have used a photo of my youngest and our much beloved Sam who is no longer with us. Even though she has not been with us for some time now, we still miss her dearly. My daughter often talks of her, so it was very important for me to scrap this beautiful photo and memory.

                                               2016-10-13-together-044

Oasis was used as my background piece and also a second piece of it was used to frame the background. I tore the centre from the second piece and mounted it over the background. The remaining centre piece was torn  into a few pieces and used at matting to sit behind my photo which was matted a couple of times with The Patch and Serenity  papers. The base was primed with clear gesso and I also added a little texture with a Script Stencil, Crackle Paste and some silver embossing powder.

                                              2016-10-13-together-045
I love the Rustic Blooms.......can not get enough of them. The fact that they are of the best quality allows them to be coloured very easily. So for this layout I have coloured them all using glimmermists. I have used Dried Lavender and  Slate with a little Dylusions White Linen to calm down the colours.

2016-10-13-together-042

I have used Dusty Attic chipboards to help embellish my page. These were treated with Crackle Paste and coloured with Vivas. Some were just inked  and then crackled using Distress Crackle.

                                            2016-10-13-together-036

My flowers were all dry brushed with a little white gesso to tone down the colours and also give a shabbiness to the page. I have also coloured the page using some H2O's.

                                            2016-10-13-together-035

And some more close-ups........

                               2016-10-13-together-034

I have also used some lace layered amongst the paper layers creating more dimension. Muslin was also coloured and added to the the flower cluster to help the flowers pop a little more.
Well that is all from me today. I hope you enjoyed your visit here.
Thank you for taking the time to visit me.
Until next time
Tina
